This beautiful flash story is by J H Martin.
“What is the sun like?” he asked the men in the room.
“It's like a copper plate,” one of them replied.
So, when he heard the clanging sound of a temple bell, he said, “That is the sun.”
“No, no, no,” laughed another man in the room, “That's wrong, my friend. It's like a candle – here…”
Reaching out, he took the candle which the other man had passed him and felt its shape.
“I see,” he said.
So, later, when the blind man picked up his flute, he nodded to himself and smiled.
“Yes,” he said, “This must indeed be the sun.”
